Staff Sergeant Samantha M. Ehlers

SSgt. Samantha M. Ehlers is the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Administration Management at Detachment 520, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. Her responsibilities include overseeing the cadet life-cycle while supporting cadre and cadets, and completing actions for contracting, commissioning, enlistments, scholarships, Extended Active Duty, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Field Training, and other events and programs.

Career

SSgt. Ehlers entered the Air Force in February 2017. After completing Basic Military Training, she graduated Personnel technical school at Keesler AFB, Mississippi in May 2017, and has since held a variety of Personnel positions at the Military Personnel Flight and in Commander Support Staff offices. Prior to her current position, Sergeant Ehlers was the NCOIC of the Medical Group CSS, Shaw AFB, South Carolina.

After graduation, SSgt. Ehlers' first duty station was Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, where she began as a Career Development Apprentice within the Retentions office for the 2nd FSS. Soon after, she served in her first CSS in the 2nd Security Forces Squadron and completed her first deployment to Ali Al Salem AB, Kuwait, taking on Reception, Staging, Onward Movement, and Integration (RSO&I). During this period, as an A1C she was in charge of meeting all inbound personnel to ensure more than 400 Airmen serving in 24 locations across 14 countries were properly accounted for, executing 1,200 weapon, ammunition, equipment, and medical tasks for the second-largest squadron in Air Force Central Command.
