Start with the detachment
Requests for Detachment 520's participation — ceremonies, Color Guard support, community events, outreach, and public-affairs questions — go to the detachment's published contact address. There is no separate request form; email afrotc@cornell.edu and describe what you have in mind.
Please write well ahead of your date. Cadets are full-time students, availability depends on the academic calendar and the training schedule, and every request is considered on its own merits. An inquiry is not a commitment by the detachment, and participation does not imply endorsement of an organization, event, or cause.
A standing tradition
The annual Watchfire
Detachment 520 cadets take part each year in the Watchfire held with Vietnam Veterans of America New York Chapter 377, where retired flags are honorably placed on the pyre and cadets stand watch through the night.
